I've been on T for about a month and four days and I honestly can't tell if my menstrual cycle stopped. The nurse said it probably would after the second shot. The one I had right after the first shot was kind of heavy (but more tolerable) but this month I honestly can't tell if I'm spotting or if the period started. How do you just know when it ends?

Depending on your dose, the frequency of your dose, and how well your body reacts to the testosterone your cycle can take anywhere from a month to several months to stop. It seems like the average stopping point is 3 months on testosterone, but I’ve also heard of people taking up to 9 months for their cycles to stop (these people were on very low doses or somehow were not reacting properly to testosterone).

When I started testosterone my body reacted by bleeding for about 2 weeks straight and then everything stopped. Some people experience it this way, some people just never have a period again, others will have smaller cycles or have spotting for awhile before everything stops. Right now it sounds like you’re in the last category here. The only real test to see if you’ve stopped is to wait until this spotting stops and to see if anything comes after it. After not having anything happen for a month after those initial 2 weeks for me I decided that that was it and I considered mine to have stopped.

Thank you! This is ver useful. I was abit afraid because it seems I’m going through the same case as you (Gendercube) and I just couldn’t find info about this until an user showed me this post.

Hey everyone,

Even though the issue with the art thieves is not yet resolved, I got a few messages that made me think this post might be useful/necessary for all you artists out there. It’s just a short summary but hopefully it will clear up some questions.
